The savage, vicious and ferociously funny play puts Jewish identity and assimilation center stage. In Joshua Harmon’s biting comedy, a beloved grandfather has died and a family heirloom with religious significance is up for grabs. Who is more deserving? Is it the bossy, overbearing, opinionated, deeply troubled and self-declared “good Jew”, Daphna? Or her less observant, equally opinionated cousin, Liam, who brings his “Shiksa” girlfriend, Melody, to the fray? Liam’s younger brother, Jonah does not want to get involved but is pushed into mediating between the two.
