Center Stage is thrilled to host the amazing Congolese ensemble, Chorale Vie Nouvelle, the New Life Choir.
This colorful and exciting show brings Congo, the second largest country in Africa, to the audience using all the senses, including storytelling from the refugees who came to Israel, traditional dances and beautiful and moving singing in a variety of languages including Lingala, Swahili, French, English and Hebrew. It is a unique ensemble of Congolese singers and one Israeli singer.
The conductor, Tonton Kalupa was a journalist in Congo who was forced to flee the country due to direct threats against him from the government. Prior to his escape, he conducted church choirs of over hundreds of people.
The ensemble has performed at numerous musical evenings around country and the audience had an unforgettable experience.
